Tape Shields

CATEGORIES

35kV

Copper Tape Shield usually go with power cables (25kV and 35kV). They show superior performance in pulp and paper mills, utility power generating stations, water and sewage treatment facilities, and other industrial three-phase applications. They are suitable for use in wet or dry locations when installed in accordance with NEC. They also are for use in aerial, direct burial, conduit, open try and underground installations. They should be installed in a system with a ground conductor that is in close proximity if it is a burial. A shielded cable is an electrical cable of one or more insulated conductors enclosed by a common conductive layer. The shield may be composed of braided strands of copper (or other metal, such as aluminium), a non-braided spiral winding of copper tape, or a layer of conducting polymer.
