Some clevises are formed from stiff, hot rolled channel, making it much heavier and stronger than similar brackets made of pressed steel channel. They have corrosion resistant aluminum alloy clevis for use with spool insulators. They can be bolted to crossarms to provide an insulated deadend assembly. There are many different types of clevises, one the bail type secondary clevis, formed from 1/4 inch diameter steel is designed for attaching to eyebolts. The porcelain spool insulator is included. Pipe Riser clevises are used for triplex cable installations. Furnished complete with two assembly bolts and one clevis pin. Thimble clevises are used in guying and deadending applications. They are the interface connection fitting used in attaching guy wire, conductor, wire grips or deadend bails to eye type fittings of insulators, eye bolts and pole eye plates.
